I'm of the opposite mind, whereby I enjoy playing with just about anyone as long as they aren't a total jerk. This is true in either pre or post searing worlds. Certainly, soloing brings max experience gain and items; and I can see how henchmen can help out with the more complex missions. But for me, I bought this game to play with other people, and so that's what I'm in it for. If I wanted to play solo or party with AI controlled bots, I'd have waited for Dungeon Siege II.
I'm not overly concerned about gaining all the experience that I can as quickly as possible through solo playing, as that will naturally come with time and through building different characters from scratch. And who really cares if the PUG has some new people or unskilled players? I'm much more interested in having a fun time with others, win or lose, rather than creating the most efficient uber-elite team. Of course, finding the best of both worlds is ideal; and there's nothing like hooking up with some good players and having an awesome strategic experience. But even when it's kinda messy or loose, it's still a lot of fun. We all learn from our mistakes, and sometimes the best insights come from unplanned scenarios or happy accidents. If you see a dark skinned ranger, mesmer or elementalist with the name 'Zhen Jou' in it, then that's likely me. I'd be happy to join up. Last edited by Akshara; May 04, 2005 at 12:50 AM // 00:50.. |
